Flux welding is a material used in welding to protect the welding zone, chemical cleaning of the connected surfaces and improve the quality of the weld.
For example, when gas welding and forging of metals widely used components such as borax, boric acid, chlorides and fluorides. They form a liquid protective layer, in which dissolve the oxides formed on the welded surfaces.
During welding of all metals and their alloys, combines with oxygen in the ambient air and oxygen welding flame, form oxides, which have a higher melting point than the metal itself. To protect the molten metal from oxidation and removal of formed when welding oxides used welding powders or pastes are called fluxes.
Therefore, fluxes are substances that are injected into the weld pool for deoxidation of molten metal and removing the formed oxides and non-metallic inclusions. When gas welding fluxes are introduced into the weld pool and in the form of volatile liquids.
