Make this cheese in the shape of a circle or cylinder weight 4.5 kg Cheese head Golden yellow color and covered with wax. On the slice of cheese there are small voids of irregular shape with a size of 0.2-0.5 mm, the cheese mass is homogeneous, light yellow color. There are several varieties of this cheese: soft (made from pasteurized milk, Green brand), spicy (made from unpasteurized milk, is marked by a red mark), butter (made from pasteurized milk, cream, Yellow mark) and spicy (with the addition of cumin and pepper). The cheese is ripened for three months, during this period it is regularly washed and brushed. Thanks to this technology it acquires an original, slightly tangy taste. The fat content is 48%. Tilsiter very rich in calcium, protein and vitamins. This cheese is an ingredient of dishes such as pizza, lasagna with vegetables, pasta, salads and sandwiches. This cheese is in perfect harmony with dry white wines and dark beer.
It is known that for the first time this cheese was prepared in the XIX century in the town of Tilsit (East Prussia). Then, starting in 1893 he began producing Swiss cheese makers brought Tilsit recipe.
