UkrAgroConsult: Ukraine beats records on the export of honey

Ukraine in recent years has cemented its image as a reliable supplier of honey on the world market. Despite the decrease in the production of this product in 2014 under the influence of the military-political factors, the growth trend of exports of honey from Ukraine remains.
So, for the period January-October 2014 export of honey from Ukraine totaled $ 27.3 thousand tons, while for the entire 2013 year were shipped to foreign markets 21 thousand tons.
The main countries-consumers of Ukrainian honey in January-October 2014 were Poland and Germany, the share of shipments in which amounted to 41% and 25%, respectively. At the same time, large shipments of goods were also made in Canada, USA, Turkey and other EU countries.
According to experts, UkrAgroConsult, positive dynamics of exports is primarily due to the optimal ratio of price/quality, allowing you to compete with products from origin countries in Asia and South America, provided trade preferences from the EU, the growing demand for natural products with the end user in mind, as well as the devaluation of the hryvnia.
Leaders in the export of honey is "the Bartnik", a multi-concern "Commonwealth" company "agro East trade" and "Ukrainian honey", which accounted for 60% of exports.
According to UkrAgroConsult, Ukraine in 2015 will be able to conquer new markets for honey. The positive side is the increased interest in the Ukrainian product from the Scandinavian countries.
