Sodium sulfite (sodium sulfite, Na2SO3).
Packaging from 1kg.
Sodium sulfite (sodium sulfite) — colorless crystals, the sodium salt and the sulfurous acid with the formula Na2SO3, colorless crystals, soluble in water, forming the hydrates.
Sodium sulfite is a strong reducing agent. At normal temperatures of aqueous solutions crystallizes Na2SO3×7H2O. In aqueous solutions easily oxidized by air oxygen. In aqueous solutions of Na2SO3 attaches by heating sulphur with the formation of sodium thiosulfate.
Sodium sulfite is used as a component of the fixer and developers in photography, to remove traces of chlorine after the bleaching of fabrics, for removing S of viscose fiber after forming, as flotoreagent
for non-ferrous metals, in production of pesticides for disposal
