Coragen Insecticide

Coragen is the insecticide of new generation, with its unique mechanism of action and high efficacy against a broad spectrum of pests belonging to the class Lepidoptera (moth, fruit moth, leafroller), Homoptera (the San Jose scale) and Coleoptera (Colorado potato beetle).

In Ukraine the drug is registered against these pests:
Apple: Apple moth, Codling moth, leafroller;
the San Jose scale (phase larvae of the Explorer): biological efficiency up to 80%.
Potatoes: the potato moth, Colorado potato beetle.
Coragen registered for use on potato in home gardens. In the future we plan to expand the registration of the vineyards and vegetable crops.

Formulation: a suspension concentrate, water-based
Active ingredient: Chlorantraniliprole, 200 g/l
Class: Anthranilamides
Packing form: plastic jar 50 ml and 200 ml

The mechanism of action of the drug
The main effect of insecticide comes in contact with Coragen in the stomachs of insects, as well as due to contact action (through cuticle). Ranidin activated-receptor genes, which plays a major role in muscle contraction. After ingestion of this insecticide is activated the output of internal stores of calcium from the muscles of the pest (the receptor causes the receptor channel to open for a longer period of time). Uncontrolled release of ions of calcium contributes to a sharp decrease in its internal reserves in the body. As a result, the pest loses its ability to contract the muscles, paralysis occurs immediately. This, in turn, leads to a cessation of feeding, the larvae become weak and die quickly.

After getting the product in the body of an insect, you may observe the following symptoms:
- Muscle paralysis
- Instant stopping power

Death within 1-3 days

Thanks to the newest mechanism of action of Coragen finds its place as a partner in antiresistance protection programmes and programmes for integrated protection.

Application on Apple:
The research was conducted, which showed that Coragen able to control the population of Codling moth at different stages of development in several ways.

1. Ovicide effect of the drug depends on the duration of treatment is also from the density of the pest population. Ovicide the strongest effect is observed when applying Coragen prior to the beginning of oviposition or after oviposition, but before the black phase head.

2. Ovi-larvicidal action of the insecticide is observed during pogryzaniya only velupillaya larvae treated with the drug of the egg surface. In the result, there is instant intoxication of the larvae of the Codling moth, which eventually dies, unable to get out of the egg and dies immediately after.

3. Larvicidal action of the drug is characterized by a high effectiveness against larvae of the pest. This happens 2 ways: the gastric action - if you get insecticide in the stomach of a caterpillar when feeding, the pin action is in contact with the skin of the caterpillar.
The highest larvicidal effect can be seen when the pest eats the treated surface. It acts immediately, the fruit will not be damaged.
Unlike many other insecticides, Coragen control larvae at all stages of their development. In this case, they completely die within 1-3 days, but the culture remains protected due to the quick stopping power.
