The mechanism of action of the herbicide EURO-LIGHTNING

In contact with the weed plants imazapyr and imazamox quickly absorbed through the leaves and also penetrate the plant through the roots. These active ingredients are released through the xylem and phloem in plant tissue, where they act as inhibitors of the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS). This enzyme is found in plants and bacteria, not in animals. ALS is a catalyst for the biosynthesis of essential amino acids: valine, leucine and isoleucine. Suppression of education is ALS imidazolinone blocks the formation of these essential amino acids and protein synthesis, which, in turn, leads to the death of weeds.

General information about CLEARFIELD system

 

CLEARFIELD production system is a unique combination of the herbicide EURO-LIGHTNING and high yielding sunflower hybrids that are resistant to this herbicide. EURO LIGHTNING has a systemic effect on annual and perennial dicots and grassy weeds, including ragweed, Ooty, canetic and Broomrape. EURO LIGHTNING in the CLEARFIELD system is the first unique capability of destroying a broad spectrum of weeds by post-emergence treatment with the herbicide with flexible terms of use. Resistant to the herbicide EURO-LIGHTNING hybrids of sunflower used in the CLEARFIELD system, were obtained in the traditional way of breeding without using genetic engineering. Thus sunflower hybrids resistant to the herbicide in the CLEARFIELD system is not transgenic.

Recommendations for use

— 1.0 l/ha under optimal conditions (weeds in the early stages of development and active growth), as well as on light soils.

— 1.2 l/ha — primary recommended standard — an excellent effect even under less than optimal conditions (weeds at later stages of development, problem weeds)

Attention! The majority of crops, including conventional varieties and hybrids of sunflower is highly sensitive to the effects of the drug

Application of herbicides on sowings of these crops may cause strong inhibition or total loss.

After application of herbicide is not desirable to conduct machining of the aisles, as this may disrupt the herbicide screen. When applying herbicide on crops with minimum or zero tillage, in the presence of large amounts of plant precipitation on the surface of the soil may reduce the soil action of the drug.

Attention! To avoid damage to subsequent crops due to the remnants of EURO-LIGHTNING in the sprayer immediately after processing, thoroughly rinse the tank and all the nodes according to the following scheme:

1. To drain the remaining fluid from the spray tank, then to fill clear water tank and all hoses for at least 10 minutes. Drain all the water from the sprayer. Visually ensure that no drug residue on the tank walls, if they are, repeat the whole procedure again. DO NOT RINSE THE SPRAYER NEAR SOURCES OF DRINKING WATER OR VEGETATIVE PLANTS.

2. Partially fill the tank with clean water, add to the volume of ammonia (containing minimum of 3% ammonia) at the rate of 1 l per 100 l of water. Wash the resulting solution mounted all parts, top up the water tank completely. To let the liquid stand for 15 minutes, then pass this solution through all hoses and nozzles. Pour the entire solution.

3. Remove nozzles and screens and rinse them again in ammonia solution in a separate container.

4. Repeat the procedure 2.

5. Thoroughly rinse the tank with clean water for at least 5 minutes, passing water through the whole system.
